Bradford City are through to the semi finals of the Reserve Section League Cup after they defeated Newcastle Utd 2-0. Rosie McDonnell gave City the lead in the seventeenth minute but it wasn't until deep into the second half that they finally wrapped up the win when Melanie Garside-Wright scored the second goal.
Also through to the last four are Nottingham Forest who ran out 5-1 winners over Sheffield FC. Sheffield did get off to a good start and took the lead on the half hour through Rachel Charles, with Forest hitting back to level the scores when Natasha Meade scored shortly before half time. Within eleven minutes of the restart, Ruth Titterton and Jemma Grimadell both found the net to put Forest in control of the game, then Isabel Sullivan netted twice in quick succession to see her side safely home.
Manchester City hold on to the leadership of the Northern Division in the FA WSL Development League despite going down to a 1-0 defeat at home to Everton on Sunday. The result takes Everton up to third, level on points with City and second placed Aston Villa.
