The London FA are pleased to announce that in partnership with Ladies Super Liga, they will be running a women's 7-a-side league at the Powerleague in Shoreditch, London, E1 6GJ.
The London FA have received some funding from the FA small sided fund to run some small sided football for women across London and so far have run three five-a-side leagues. This 7-a-side league is another step in creating different playing opportunities for women and it is hoped that it will attract those who have played five-a-side and want to try something a bit different along with those who play on both a recreational basis and in 11-a-side teams.
Emma Barnes, W&G FDO for London FA, says: "This is something a bit different to the usual five-a-side leagues so we hope that it will be attractive to current teams and any new teams who want to get involved. It is a great way to socialise and keep fit at the same time as well as being in a fantastic central location. With the recent bad weather it is also a great way to guarantee regular football as it will be taking place on a 3G pitch."
The league will run on Friday evenings for 10 weeks from 7th February through until 11th April from 7pm- 9pm. The cost to enter a team is just £350 for the 10 week league, which works out at just £35 per week. The league will be affiliated and officiated by LFA referees. At the end of the league there will be prizes for the winning team and the runners-up.
Any ladies can enter the league as long as they are 16 or over. If you are interested in entering a team into this league or would like some more information please contact Stacey Cruse at firstname.lastname@example.org or Emma Barnes at email@example.com.
