Rovers ready for Bradford challenge
 Women's Football News 10 Jan 2014
Blackpool Wren Rovers are relishing the opportunity to take on Premier League opposition this Sunday when they take on Bradford City in the Second Round of the F.A.Women's Cup.
The North West League side, who have started well in the Premier Division following promotion at the end of last season, must travel to Yorkshire for the tie but player manager Sam Wilcock told Women's Soccer Scene: "The team are very excited to be playing a club like Bradford City in the FA Cup and it comes at a good time, as in our last game we beat local rivals Blackpool Ladies FC in the league, but also at a bad time because we have not played since that game on the 5th December because of the weather and Christmas.
"We are a team who enjoy playing against teams from higher leagues and we like to test ourselves. We have a few experienced players who have played in the Combination league and also players who are playing at their highest level now but we know can play at a higher level so we tell them to go out there and show us what they have got.
"I remember playing against Bradford when we were both in the Combination league so I know it will be a challenge.
Rovers captain Nikki Berko added: "We are really looking forward to testing ourselves against higher league opposition and know it will be extremely tough against a good side, but we can take confidence from beating Blackburn Rovers in the Lancashire Cup Final last year and that proves that anything can happen in the cup!"
Blackpool Wren Rovers have embarked on an impressive run in the Cup this season, the most notable of their four victories so far coming against Northern Combination leaders Mossley Hill. The Lancashire side have also progressed at the expense of Middleton Athletic, Chester City and Hull City.
