Bonnie makes Watford return
 Women's Football News 11 Jan 2014

Bonnie makes Watford return - 11 Jan 2014 - Women's Football NewsWatford are delighted to announce the signing of Bonnie Horwood from Notts County for the upcoming WSL2 campaign.

The former England under-23 international is no stranger to the club having been at Watford twice before. This included a loan deal last season that saw her make 11 appearances for the club, scoring two goals. After her loan spell, she went back to Lincoln where she was a key part of the side that reached the Continental Cup final.

Bonnie is looking forward to her third spell at the club: "I'm pleased to be back, I really enjoyed the two times I've been here previously," she said. "Nearly all of the girls are still here from last season, I enjoyed it then and the set up is now even better."

Having finished second last season, the 26-year-old believes Watford can go a step further this time: "We're looking to try and win the league. There's no reason why not, the squads a lot stronger a year on.

"I think everyone seems to underestimate Watford, which is a good thing."

First Team Manager John Salomon expressed his delight at bringing Horwood back to the club: "I'm absolutely delighted that Bonnie has committed her future to Watford Ladies.

"We had some strong competition to secure Bonnie's signature but I know that players and staff are delighted that she is back.

"Bonnie made a great impact when she was with us last season. She was versatile, helped evolve our developing style of play with her quality on the ball and was a calming influence in the squad with great experience that our young group could learn from."

Horwood is the latest addition to the squad which Salomon has been putting together since June 2013. The manager is happy with the group he has assembled: "I'm really excited about the way the squad is shaping up.

"We have added some excellent players since the end of last season and having seen the reaction of the players who returned for pre-season training this week, the hunger is certainly there for us to keep improving and keep getting better."
