Kylie joins Lionesses - 16 Jan 2014 - Women's Football NewsMillwall Lionesses are delighted to announce key new signing Welsh international Kylie Davies for the upcoming new FA WSL season.
An experienced defender, Kylie has spent the last seven years at Chelsea, and is eager and excited to begin a new chapter in her career.
"I am pleased to have signed for Millwall," she told www.millwallfc.co.uk. "I have had a great seven years at Chelsea but felt it was time for me to take on a new challenge and come out of my comfort zone.
"I had a brief spell here last season and liked what I saw. There is a great buzz about the place and I know how ambitious the club are and where they want to be. It's something for me as a player and as a football club to strive towards.
"I have signed for Millwall as I believe we could be title contenders. I want to get the club where it should be which is a FA WSL 1 club and with the players they have already got at the club and the new signings coming in that's got to be our goal.
"Millwall have a great pool of young players and it's important to keep developing them as well as adding depth and experience to the squad.
"I hope to bring a lot of experience to the squad having played at the top level for 10 years now as will some of the other new signings. Hopefully we can build on this and have a great."
Lionesses boss Alberto Kurti added: "I am extremely pleased that Kylie has decided to sign for us; she is a fantastic player and I believe she will be a major success with us.
"Kylie had a brilliant time with us last season on loan and she did bring a lot to the team. Her presence and quality on the pitch matches her leadership and character off it.
"Kylie will offer so much to our younger players in the senior set up and our Millwall Lionesses COE."
