Yankey commits to Arsenal
 Women's Football News 23 Jan 2014
Rachel Yankey has signed a new contract with Arsenal.
The 34-year-old forward first featured for the Gunners in 1996 and remains a key part of Shelley Kerr's squad. Her pace and crossing abilities helped her side to an FA Women's Cup and Continental Cup double last term.
Yankey became England's most capped player in 2013 and was included on the New Year Honours list for a second time this month when she was awarded an OBE for services to women's football.
General manager Vic Akers said: "It is great news Rachel has committed her future to the club. She remains a key part of the team and her ability and experience will be invaluable in the season ahead."
Yankey added: "I'm very pleased to have agreed a new contract. As a lifelong Arsenal fan, I've always been incredibly proud to represent the Club, and it's great to have the chance to continue to do so."
