Keynsham Town Ladies player, Suzanne Grant may have set the record for the quickest goalscoring return to football after the birth of a child.
The Scottish international striker gave birth to her first child, a son named Oscar, on November 29th 2013 and just seven weeks later played her first match for Keynsham Town Ladies, scoring twice in the process.
Keynsham Town manager, Barrie Newton, said: "It was quite remarkable for Suzanne to come back so quickly and is a reflection of her fitness and determination to play as soon as possible.
"Indeed, Suzanne was all ready to play on 12th January in our postponed Cup game at Portsmouth which would have been just five weeks since her son was born. I have had other players, in a similar situation, take seven months not seven weeks! This may well be a UK record. Suzanne has been training with her home town club, Celtic, but I was truly amazed to see her play ninety minutes.
"She was due to be in our First team squad for the FA Cup game at Portsmouth, but that game was postponed due to the weather, so we gave her a start in our Reserve match at home to Cirencester Town. It gave Suzanne some welcome match practice before the rearranged Cup tie at home next Sunday.
"To show 'Granti' has not lost her scoring touch, she netted after only three minutes and popped up with the winner with four minutes to go in the 3-2 win."
