England hold Norway to draw
 Women's Football News 30 Jan 2014

Mo Marley's England Under-19 team drew 1-1 with Norway on the indoor pitch at St. George's Park.

Abbey Joice put the Young Lions ahead after 23 minutes only for Amalie Vevle Eikeland to level matters on 57.

Head Coach Marley handed debuts to Sophie Baggaley, Jodie Brett, Grace Rapp, Kirstie Levell and Leah Williamson, the latter two having helped the Under-17s finish fourth at last year's European Championship finals.

This match against the traditionally strong Scandinavians came at the end of a two-day training camp at the national football centre.

A different group of 22 players began training at St. George's Park on Wednesday and they will also take on Norway on Friday morning.

Marley said: "This January training camp has been split to observe more players within the Under-19 age group.

"The squads include new players and players who have transitioned from the recent Under-17 finals.

"The intention is to develop as many players as possible due to the demands of both the Under-19 European Championship qualifiers in April, hopefully the finals in the summer and also the Under-20 World Cup in Canada in August."

England will face Denmark, Serbia and host nation Finland in April in a round robin style Euro qualifying tournament, with the top placed nation making it to the finals, which are being staged in Norway in July.

England Under-19: Sophie Baggaley (sub Kirstie Levell 80mins), Molly Bartrip (sub Leah Williamson 61mins), Rosella Ayane (sub Grace Rapp 71mins), Millie Turner (sub Beth Hepple 86mins), Ellie Stewart, Vyan Sampson, Natasha Flint, Maddy Cusack (sub Jodie Brett 61mins), Abbey Joice (sub Carla Humphrey 61mins), Hannah Dale, Lucy Whipp. Subs not used: Olivia Wild, Demi Lambourne, Beth Merrick, Mille Farrow, Laura Bartup.
