Cardiff City Ladies remain on top of the Southern Division but were held to a 1-1 draw by mid-table Lewes.
The sides had met two weeks earlier with Cardiff winning 1-0 on that occasion and they went into an early lead when Beth Lloyd broke through and rounded Michelle Beazley to score her sixth league goal of the season. This time, the Rookettes hit back and levelled the scores ahead of the break, Nikki Payne finding the net with a far post header from a Kelly McCullock cross. In the second half, Cardiff forced a series of corners but Lewes stood firm and held out for a well earned point.
The result means that Cardiff now head the table by a point from Gillingham, who have a game in hand, with Coventry City and Portsmouth still on the fringes of the race.
