Notts County Ladies F.C. has partnered with Forever, leading suppliers of aloe vera-based drinking gels and supplements, to support the ladies team in their football training as they prepare for the start of the season.
Club nutritionist Matt Lawson (pictured) said: "I cannot emphasise enough the importance of having what I call a 'real food' diet, however during intense training we are finding Forever's products helpful as part of our nutritional programme.
"We've been using the products for a couple of months now. The team is using 'Forever Freedom', an aloe vera juice containing glucosamine, ideal for those interested in mobility. We're seeing some good results with the Argi+ isotonic drink which contains the amino acid L-arginine and vitamin C; early signs are that it reduces fatigue and tiredness during intense training."
Notts County's ladies team boasts nine international level players after three new signings last month, including England and Great Britain utility player Dunia Susi who joins the team from Chelsea, Rachel Unitt from Birmingham City and Katie Holtham, who returns to her home team.
It's not just the Ladies team that are benefitting. Les Bradd, Notts County's top goalscorer of all time and now an ambassador for the club, is an advocate of the aloe vera drinking gel.
Bob Parker, Forever UK's Managing Director added: "Our aloe vera products are used by millions around the world every day, supporting healthy lifestyles. Being adopted by top athletes is a powerful and important milestone and we couldn't be more proud. We will be following the team's success with interest as the season gets underway."
