Sheffield go further ahead
 Women's Football News 4 Mar 2014
Sheffield FC have gone ten points clear in the Northern Division after scoring five without reply against Sporting Club Albion.
The league leaders scored twice within the opening eight minutes, both times by Carla Ward, with Jodie Michalska and Ellie Gilliatt adding further goals ahead of half time. Lynn Goodman rounded off the scoring with the final goal, two minutes from time.
Newcastle Utd took a huge stride towards safety with an important 2-1 victory over Leeds Utd. Sarah Wilson put her side ahead on the stroke of half time with Beth Gardner doubling their lead just after the break. Emily Starkie pulled one back for Leeds shortly afterwards but Newcastle held on to put an end to their run of eight successive league defeats.
