Birmingham City have completed the signing of defender Meaghan Sargeant ahead of the 2014 FA Women's Super League campaign.
The Sheffield-born stopper was a member of the Lincoln Ladies squad during last season's FA WSL having honed her skills with Arsenal Ladies' Academy for the previous two years.
The 19-year-old, who progressed through Sheffield United's Centre of Excellence, has also won honours on the international stage.
Having been capped for England at Under-15 and Under-17 levels, Sargeant was a member of the Three Lions' Under-19 squad which finished runners-up at the 2013 European Championship in Wales. Of note to Blues fans, Sargeant partnered new team mate Aoife Mannion at the heart of England's defence throughout that tournament.
Commenting on Sargeant's signing, Blues Ladies boss David Parker said: "We're thrilled to bring Meaghan to the club as she's a player we've been monitoring for some time now.
"She's got great technical ability and can play multiple positions across the back four, which will be a valuable asset for us over the course of the season and beyond. She didn't get the playing time she would have liked at Lincoln last season, compared to her breakthrough season in 2012, but she has come here with a point to prove and is looking to once again be a regular in the starting XI alongside our other youngsters.
"It's another great fit for us and is shaping the way we want to move forward."
