Cardiff Met Ladies' quest for a trophy treble is still very much on but only after being pushed all the way by PILCS in the semi finals of the FAW Women's Cup.
PILCS led 2-1 at half time through a double from Amy Thrupp before Cardiff Met, whose earlier goal had come from Emily Brown, took the game to extra time when Laura May Walkley levelled the scores. Ten minutes into the extra period, Cardiff Met were awarded a penalty and Ellie Sargent gave them a lead which they held on to.
The university side currently lead the Shared Access Welsh Premier Women's League by ten points and have also reached the League Cup Final.
Their opponents in the Final will be Swansea City, who are now just one game away from winning their first major trophy for three years. The Swans played host to Caernarfon Town and ran out 3-0 winners, Jodie Passmore netting twice and Emma Beynon adding the other goal.
