Heard the one about Chairman who bought a season ticket for his own club? You have now, as the Chairman of Yeovil Town Ladies FC has done just that!
With the Club's debut in the Women's Super League, the FA WSL, just a few weeks away, the Chairman of Yeovil Town Ladies FC became one of the first people to buy a season ticket, even though he could obviously watch all the home games for nothing.
Commenting on what at first glance seems to be an inexplicable move, David Mills said: "I wanted to make a gesture of solidarity with our fans and experience what the season ticket purchase process was like for one of our supporters. Also, when I saw how low the price of a season ticket was - just £25 for an early bird ticket - I just had to buy one, they must be one of the best bargains of the year!"
Fortunately the online season ticket purchase system is said to have worked very well for Mills and he hopes his move has helped reinforce the clubs values: "As a Club we value our fans very highly and hopefully me being prepared to put my hand in my own pocket to buy a season ticket underlines that this commitment is real, not just hot air."
The club kicks off its debut season in FA WSL 2 away at Reading's Madejski Stadium on 16th April. Just four days later they make their home debut against London Bees at Sherborne Town FC on Easter Sunday, 20th April. Ticket for games and season tickets can be purchased via the club website at www.yeoviltownladies.com.
