Nottingham Forest bounced back from their midweek defeat to win 3-1 at Blackburn Rovers and move to within four points of Northern Division leaders Sheffield FC.
Blackburn started the game well but it was in-form Forest striker Amber Hughes who was to score twice in a five-minute spell leading up to half time to put her side two goals ahead. After the break, Kirsty Allen netted a third for Forest before Rovers grabbed a consolation through Nichol Forster.
Stoke City remain in line for a top three place after they defeated Leeds Utd 2-1. Leeds got off to a great start when Emma Bentley gave them a sixth minute lead, which they held until half time. Early in the second half, Stoke were back on level terms when Natasha Tezgel headed in from a corner. Another set piece led to Stoke going in front, this time through a header from Meg Bowyer, and Nicole Dale twice went close late on as Stoke secured their eighth win of the season.
Sporting Club Albion leapt back into fourth place on the back of a 3-0 victory over Preston North End. Kayleigh Griffiths, Robyn James and Leah Rawle were all on the scoresheet to help their side climb above two teams including their opponents.
Bradford City look to have banished any lingering fears of relegation and will be setting their sights on a top half place following their 2-0 win away to Derby County. City took the lead with just two minutes on the clock through Charlotte Stuart and they wrapped up a fine win midway through the second half when Sarah Danby scored the second goal.
