Winning starts for England and Scotland
 Women's Football News 6 Apr 2014
England and Scotland both made winning starts to their UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship Elite qualifying round groups.
England are over in Finland for their group and got the start they wanted when beating Denmark 1-0. After dominating matters for most of the match, Mo Marley's side took the points when Leah Williamson scored the only goal of the game in the 62nd minute.
Next up for England on Monday will be Serbia, who were beaten 4-0 by hosts Finland in the other game.
Scotland meanwhile are over in Slovakia for their group and notched up a 5-1 success against Iceland. Lucy Graham gave them the lead in the opening minute and Zoe Ness quickly added a second, before Graham found the net again midway through the first half.
Although Svava Gudmundsdottir pulled a goal back for Iceland on the stroke of half time, Scotland did not let up after the break and went on to score further goals through Abbi Grant and Caroline Weir.
Scotland were further boosted by the news that the other game between Russia and Croatia ended goalless and they are next up against Croatia.
