Cardiff Met Ladies took a step closer towards the Shared Access Welsh Premier Women's League title with an 8-1 victory away to Port Talbot Town.
Emily Allen opened the scoring for the university side in the ninth minute and their advantage was soon doubled by Chloe O'Connor. Emily Brown and Laura Walkley also found the net to ensure that Cardiff Met were four ahead by half time. Brown further increased their lead six minutes after the restart and although Courtney Thomas pulled one back for Port Talbot, Brown went on to score three more times to round off a five-goal haul for the prolific striker.
Second placed PILCS' match away to Llanidloes was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and they have been caught on points by Cardiff City FC after they drew 1-1 against Llandudno Junction. Katie Bowe gave a fifth minute lead to Llandudno, for whom the point was a valuable one, with Hattie Powell earning City a share of the spoils with an equaliser a minute before half time.
Wrexham returned from Aberystwyth Town with a 2-1 victory under their belts, to take themselves above Newcastle Emlyn whose game with Swansea City was another victim of the weather. Lyndsey Rogers opened the scoring for Wrexham in the 24th minute, with Amy Jenkins equalising shortly before the break. Aber looked to be on their way towards picking up an important point but their hopes were dashed in the dying minutes, when Ash Mayes netting the winning goal for Wrexham.
