Gwen comes home to Cardiff
 Women's Football News 7 Apr 2014
Gwen comes home to Cardiff - 7 Apr 2014 - Women's Football NewsCardiff City Ladies have signed Welsh international player Gwennan Harries.
Gwen returns to the club where she started out as a 13-year-old junior player before going on to play for Bristol Academy in the Premier League and Everton in the FA Women's Super League.
Gwen is returning after a long lay off with a knee injury and is keen to get back onto the pitch and put her injury worries behind her, and hopefully get back into the Welsh squad and add to her 56 caps for Wales.
26-year-old Gwen will be a part of Cardiff's squad who take on Everton on Sunday in the Fifth Round of the FA Women's Cup, and said of the encounter: "It's ironic that I could possibly make my return for Cardiff against my old club Everton, where I had three very happy years under the management of Mo Marley and Andy Spence, I still have some great friends there and real fond memories of my time there."
Cardiff manager Jamie Sherwood said: "To be able to bring in a player like Gwen at this stage in the season is real boost for me and for all the girls, as Gwen brings not only a wealth of experience for the younger players to learn from her, but her infectious enthusiasm for the game is great to have around the training ground."
Cardiff City Ladies were rewarded for their 1-0 win in the Fourth Round against Super league newcomers London Bees by drawing Everton at home this coming Sunday 13th April at Cardiff International Sports Stadium. Kick off time will be at 2.07pm as a mark of respect and remembrance for those who lost their lives in the Hillsborough Stadium disaster 25 years ago.
