Reserve Section Leagues round-up...
 Women's Football News 12 Apr 2014

A week after booking their place in the Reserve Section League Cup Final, Cardiff City Ladies secured themselves the Midland Division title with a 7-1 victory over Coventry City. Kierra Deeks led the scoring for the South Wales side with a hat-trick and there were further strikes from Zoe Atkins, Frances Dalton and Holly Provis along with an own goal. Alison Livermore netted a late consolation for the Sky Blues. Cardiff were confirmed as title winners following the news that Wolverhampton Wanderers could no longer catch them after being beaten 2-0 by Stoke City.

In the FA WSL Development League, the Northern Division could hardly be closer with only two points covering the top six teams. These are now headed by Manchester City who went to the top of the table on goal difference following a 1-0 win against Birmingham City, Betsy Hassett scoring the only goal of the game. Everton had started the day as leaders but they crashed to a 4-0 reverse away to Sunderland, for whom Kiera Ramshaw, Elizabeth McCubbin, Rebekah Bass and Abbey Joice all netted a goal apiece. Liverpool are just a single point off the pace after Claudia Walker, Eve Kennerley and Sophia Riccio gave them a 3-0 victory over Notts County, completing a bad day for visiting teams in the division, who did not score a goal between them.

Bristol Academy climbed up into second place, their highest position to date, in the Southern Division table following a 2-1 win away to Watford. Stacie Donnelly replied for the home side. Chelsea are a further point adrift in third place, they were 3-2 victors at Oxford Utd. Karin Muya spearheaded the win for Chelsea by bagging a hat-trick while the home side responded through Laura Allsop and Katie Lowder. Yeovil Town meanwhile defeated Reading Women 4-1, Grace Rapp netting twice along with Katie Sherwood and Jodi Cornwall.
