The top four teams in the table in the Southern Division were all involved in F.A.Women's Cup action but it was a bad day for Charlton Athletic as their title challenge surely came to an end with a 4-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Paige Adams opened the scoring for the Seagulls midway through the first half and although Sam Pittuck equalised three minutes later, Cally Beaumont ensured that Brighton were ahead at the break. The third goal came early in the second half when Leigh Houlihan deflected a Charley Boswell cross into her own net and Lucy Somes wrapped up the win in injury time.
Lewes meanwhile notched up their biggest victory of the season when beating West Ham Utd 5-1 at the Dripping Pan. Kirstie Spice gave the Rookettes the lead on the twenty minute mark and Charlotte Bennett added a second on the stroke of half time. Clare Trafford made it three early in the second half, before Kelley Blanchflower reduced the arrears for the Hammers two minutes later. However Lewes were not finished from here with Spice scoring her second and Sian Heather completing their tally late on.
West Ham's defeat means that Keynsham Town have climbed out of the bottom two following their 2-1 success away to Tottenham Hotspur. Aimee Clark gave Keynsham the lead via a long range free kick and Rafaela Silva secured the points with the winning goal, five minutes from time.
