Hampton FC's Under-16 girls claimed S-Tech League Cup honours on Wednesday evening when they did battle with Cambridge City FC at St Neots Town FC.
The girls started the evening by raising awareness for the Sue Ryder shop in Hampton Vale who are currently helping raise funds towards the building of a new hospice at Thorpe Hall. The girls sported Sue Ryder T-Shirts (pictured) during their pre-match warm up and were observed by three staff members from the Hampton Vale shop.
The game was very tense and evenly match, with end-to-end action from the start and it remained goalless until the 58th minute when Keir Perkins get her left foot in a session of penalty area pinball and fired the Hampton Girls into the lead after Rachael Mumford hustled to win the ball when all looked lost.
This forced Cambridge City to adopt a heavily attacking formation, but a solid back line and an outstanding performance from Katie Plumb in goal kept the threat to a minimum. With Cambridge now short at the back, Hampton continued to apply pressure up front and Lisa Coppins added another to see the Hampton girls to victory.
Hampton FC squad: Katie Plumb, Kelsey Willard, Stacie Boon, Fiona Plumb, El Boothman, Rachael Mumford, Georgia Clarke, Millie Hopkisson, Georgie Elsom, Georgia Coulson, Megan Purnell, Keir Perkins, Lisa Coppins.
