Plymouth became South West Combination Champions after earning the point they needed in a tense, competitive 1-1 draw with Exeter City at Elmore FC.
They took the lead on 20 minutes, Ellie Dorey latching on to a misplaced pass by a City defender across the box and firing a powerfully struck low shot into the net. City got themselves back in the game just before half time, when full back Susan Badger was on hand to score from close in after the Argyle defence failed to clear the ball.
Argyle were reduced to ten players on the hour mark when midfielder Rebekah Rose was dismissed for a second yellow card offence. Both teams had chances to clinch the three points, City's Tash Knapman hit the bar with a powerful shot from the edge of the area, and shortly after Ezme Wells' shot was touched onto the post by the home keeper.
Argyle were able to start celebrations at the final whistle, the third time they have lifted the South West Combination title. They will now take their place in the top flight of the new look FA Women's Premier League next season.
