Watford off the mark
 Women's Football News 14 May 2014
London Bees 1 (O'Leary pen 70) Watford 3 (Wiltshire 37, Wynne 45, Hector 88)
The Hornets overcame the Bees on Wednesday night, winning 3-1 to gain their first three points in the Continental Cup.
The visitors struck in the first half through Sarah Wiltshire and Megan Wynne in the Group One clash, while Renee Hector sealed the win after Taylor O'Leary's penalty had set up a tense finish.
Watford started on the front foot, Wiltshire testing Bees keeper Sophie Harris on three occasions before opening the scoring after 37 minutes. She latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the penalty area, drove towards goal and chipped over a helpless Harris.
Watford continued to threaten and doubled their lead in first half injury time as Wynne met a low cross delivered by Kate Natkiel from the right flank.
After the break, Emma Davies cleared off the line to deny Watford a third when Emma Beckett headed goalwards.
With 20 minutes to play the home side gave themselves hope, O'Leary converting from the spot after Lucy Loomes was brought down in the box. Dawn Mallett then tested Lauren Davey with seven minutes to go, but Watford wrapped up the game with a late header from Hector.
London Bees: Sophie Harris, Emma Davies, Charlotte Herson (sub Vanna Lee 45mins), Billie Brooks, Chontele Lawrence, Anneka Nuttall, Aoife Hurley, Taylor O'Leary (sub Laura Miller 88mins), Sydney Hinchcliffe (sub Megan Goss 65mins), Dawn Mallett, Lucy Loomes.
