Notts County 0 Liverpool 0
Notts County remain on top of the congested table on goal difference after a goalless draw against current WSL champions Liverpool, who stay in second.
In a game of few chances, Notts settled the better of the two sides as a high pressing game forced last season's champions into a number of mistakes. But Notts struggled to capitalise and it was not until well beyond the half hour mark when a goalkeeper was tested with Jess Clarke forcing Libby Stout into a fine save.
Liverpool's threat was pretty blunt although they did hit the bar through a header from Natasha Dowie.
The second half did not provide a great deal of entertainment with both sides cancelling each other out. But in the 65th minute, Dunia Susi wasted a glorious chance when she ran clean through after Gemma Bonner was forced into a mistake by Desiree Scott. Susi strode into the area, but with just Stout to beat, dragged her shot just past the upright.
Clarke, who is Notts' top scorer, then saw a shot blocked, while Susi also went close but in the end both sides had to settle for a point.
Neither side was at their free flowing best in the clash while Jess Clarke for Notts and Natasha Dowie for the defending champions came closest to finding the back of the net.
