The Fulham FC Foundation is delighted to announce that from the beginning of the 2014-15 season it will be running two Ladies teams, to further help the development of women and girls' football at grassroots level.
Westfield Ladies FC will be renamed Fulham FC Foundation Ladies for the start of the new season's campaign. The team finished the season in fifth place in the London & South East League Premier Division as well as reaching the Surrey County Cup Final, where they were beaten 2-0 by Carshalton Athletic. The Reserves, having benefitted from Fulham FC Foundation quality coaching support, will play in the Surrey County Women's League.
Current Chairman of Westfield Ladies, Stephen Kick, who will continue as Chairman of Fulham FC Foundation Ladies, said: "I'm looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead in the league. These are exciting times for the Fulham FC Foundation Ladies teams and we look forward to developing more chances for women and girls to play football in a structured and competitive environment at grassroots."
Over the past year, the Fulham FC Foundation and Surrey Sports Park have teamed up to work with Westfield Ladies FC at Surrey Sports Park's world class Guildford base and, from next season, the Fulham FC Foundation Ladies teams will continue to be hosted at Surrey Sports Park for both training and matches.
The club will be holding Open trials on 19th and 26th June, which are to be held at Surrey Sports Park (GU2 7AD) at 7.30pm on both dates. For further information, please contact Stephen Kick by e-mail at Stephen.firstname.lastname@example.org.
