Third loss for England
 Women's Football News 22 Jul 2014
England 0 Spain 2 (Fraile 58, Garcia 79)
England's UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship Finals campaign was brought to a premature end after a 2-0 loss to Spain.
After defeats by Sweden and Republic of Ireland, Brent Hills's side had to win their final Group B game by two clear goals and hope Ireland beat Sweden to have any chance of making the semi finals. While the Irish kept up their side of the bargain, the Young Lions were unable to find a way past a Spanish team which contained a number of players from their Under-17 side that finished runners-up at last year's Euros.
Spain's Maria Diaz hit the woodwork in the first half as the two sides went in goalless at the break. But her side went ahead just before the hour mark when Sonia Fraile fired Celia Jiménez's cut back through a crowded box and into the back of the net.
Nahikari García sealed the win, and Spain's progress to the last four, with eleven minutes to go.
However, despite the disappointment of exiting the Euros at the group stage, this experience could prove vital as all but one member of this England squad can represent the Under-19s again next season.
England: Sophie Baggaley, Ashleigh Mills, Molly Bartrip, Elisha N'Dow (sub Rebecca Lloyd 83mins), Rosella Ayane, Jenna Dear, Coral Haines (sub Maddy Cusack 63mins), Carla Humphrey (sub Jemma Purfield 79mins), Claudia Walker, Sarah Mayling, Millie Turner. Subs not used: Kirstie Levell, Jodie Brett, Vyan Sampson, Fran Steele.

Spain: Sara Serrat, Celia Jiminez, Marta Turmo, Garazi Murua, Nuria Garrote (sub Nuria Mendoza 45mins), Sonia Fraile, Maria Diaz (sub Leire Banos 59mins), Maria Caldentey (sub Paola Soldevila 81mins), Maitane Lopez, Nahikari Garcia, Alba Redondo. Subs not used: Paula Canals, Sheila Guijarro, Ainoa Campo, Andrea Sanchez.
