Watford are pleased to announce the signing of Leighanne Robe from Arsenal.
Leighanne Robe is a former England Under-17 international who can play at either centre back or right back. The defender spent five years at Arsenal and was a crucial part of the side that won the FA WSL Development League last season, making 20 appearances and scoring one goal.
The switch to Watford is one that the new signing is looking forward to: "Watford appealed to me as they are doing quite well in the league.
"The challenge is there to try and help keep the team in the top half of the table and win more matches."
Fans who love a hard tackling defender will soon warm to the new addition. "I would describe myself as quite a physical player," Robe reveals. "I love to get stuck in and I hate losing!"
With nine WSL2 matches still to be played, there's plenty of opportunities to make an impression this season. However, the success of the team is the most important goal for Leighanne: "My goals this season would be to help the team win as many of the remaining matches and also finish in a good position in the league."
Leighanne is eligible to play right away and will be part of the squad that travels to Yeovil Town on Saturday.
