Cardiff Met Ladies were narrowly beaten 2-0 by ASA Tel-Aviv in the opening match of their UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying group match in Leiria.
The Israeli Champions took the lead ten minutes before half time when Cardiff Met goalkeeper Yzabelle Taylor was adjudged to have fouled Moran Lavi in the area and the striker picked herself up to score from the penalty spot.
Cardiff Met remained in the game but could not quite get back on level terms and with five minutes remaining, ASA Tel-Aviv secured the points when Sarit Shenar scored the second goal.
The Welsh Premier Women's League title winners are next in action on Monday when they take on Standard Liege, who were narrowly beaten 1-0 by group hosts Ouriense in the other game.
