Women's Football News
Larkhall Athletic have made a couple of encouraging changes over the summer, which will include a return to women's football for a well known name.
Jack Edgar, who led Bristol City to the top flight in women's football ten years ago, is the club's new manager Jack Edgar with Dave McGibbon as Coach. Both have very good reputations in women's and men's football and a wealth of experience between them.
Pre-season training has started and is progressing well. There have been a number of new signings including Natasha Perry, Helen Done, Katy Little and a number of young players that the club is looking to develop and to gain experience over the coming season.
The first pre season game was held on Sunday, hosting Bristol Ladies Union at Plain Ham. This ended with the Larks winning 5-1 with goals from Emily Harrington, Kate German and Done and this has only made the girls more positive going into the season!
Despite the new signings that have been made, Larkhall are always looking for new players to boost the squad, therefore anyone is welcome to come training on a Wednesday evening at Lansdown Park and Ride between 6.30pm-8pm. There is a great attitude and positive drive in the camp and all are looking forward to what the season brings.
Larkhall will start the new season in South West Division One of the FA Women's Premier League and their first match will be in the Premier League Cup First Round, when they are at home to Keynsham Town Development. The first league game is also at home against Swindon Town four days later.
