France continued their very impressive form in the FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup, cruising into the quarter finals on the back of a 3-0 victory over Paraguay.
Already virtually assured of a place in the last eight, France were two up inside the opening seven minutes, Faustine Robert giving them the lead from the penalty spot and then adding a second two minutes later.
France missed a hatful of chances and it wasn't until the latter stages of the match that they wrapped up the scoring, Claire Lavogez setting up Mylaine Tarrieu to slot home the third.
New Zealand join France in the quarter finals after they also won 3-0 against Costa Rica. The Kiwis required a victory in order to progress and they took the lead midway through the first half, Steph Skilton scoring with a glancing header.
Megan Lee put New Zealand in a strong position when she doubled their lead with twenty minutes remaining and Tayla O'Brien completed the scoring in injury time to take her side into the knockout stages for the first time.
South Korea bounced back from their defeat to Nigeria in the previous game to beat Mexico 2-1 and qualify for the quarter finals. Lee Geummin gave the Koreans the lead two minutes before half time and a Lee Sodam penalty put them well in control midway through the second half. Tanya Samarzich pulled a goal back for Mexico through a sweetly struck left foot volley but it was not enough for her side and Nigeria's victory over England meant that South Korea took second place.
