City through to last eight
 Women's Football News 18 Aug 2014
Holders Glasgow City progressed to the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup after scoring seven times without reply past Celtic 20s.
Courtney Whyte and Susan Fairlie were each on target twice for City along with Fiona Brown, Eilish McSorley and Joanne Love.
Falkirk Ladies produced the result of the round as they knocked out Premier League opponents Hutchison Vale 3-1. Nicole Pullar scored twice and Ashley McDonald the other to send the SWFL side into the last eight.
However it was a complete contrast for Falkirk FC as they were overwhelmed by a 22-0 scoreline at the hands of Rangers. Lisa Swanson and Kirsty Howat each netted four times with Erin Cuthbert, Megan Sneddon, Kathy Hill and Hayley Cunningham all contributed hat-tricks. Sophie Riley and Suzanne Mulvey rounded off the scoring for 'Gers.
Spartans meanwhile ran out 5-2 winners away to Forfar Farmington in wet and windy conditions at Station Park. Lindsey Dunbar gave Forfar an early lead which was cancelled out by Katie Reilly and Kerry Montgomery ensured that Spartans were in front at the break. Nicky Grant equalised early in the second half but with five minutes left, with extra time, Reilly scored her second goal and Sarah Ewens netted twice to seal victory for the Edinburgh side.
Inverness City eased through with a 6-1 victory over Boroughmuir Thistle. Kirstin Searer led the scoring with a four-goal haul and also on target were Hannah Gordon and Sarah Main.
Hamilton Academical were the other winners on the day, recording a 3-0 success away to Glasgow Girls. It was a disastrous start for the home side when the Accies took an early lead from the penalty spot and defender Shannon Mulligan was sent off for deliberate handball, Lynsey Hogg scoring the resulting spot kick. Glasgow battled hard to stay in the game but were undone twice in the second half when Carolina Richardson and Kirstin McGuire both found the net with long range strikes.
