Shelley makes history - 20 Aug 2014 - Women's Football NewsShelley Kerr has made history by becoming the first female manager to take charge of a British men's senior football side. 
The former Arsenal and Scotland Under-19 manager has been appointed to the job at Stirling University who play in the Scottish Lowland League, making her the first female in the UK to manage a senior professional men's team.
Shelley will also carry out head coaching duties for the football scholarship programme at Scotland's University for Sporting Excellence as well as studying for a MSc in Sports Management at the university.
The 59-times capped Scottish international left the post at Arsenal in June after 16 months in charge, during which she led them to two FA Women's Cup wins and the Continental Cup, as well as reaching the UEFA Women's Champions League semi finals last year.
