Charlton lead goal charge
 Women's Football News 26 Aug 2014
On a goal laden day in the Southern Division, Charlton Athletic lead the way following a 12-1 victory over Keynsham Town.
Kit Graham led the scoring for the Addicks with a four-goal haul and there were hat-tricks for Sam Pittuck and Gemma Shepherd, with Amy Howlett and Emma Harrison also on target for Charlton, Justine Lorton-Radburn getting Keynsham's consolation.
Cardiff City Ladies also made an impressive start as they won 7-3 away to Portsmouth. Cori Williams found the net no less than five times and Lauren Townsend weighed in with a brace while Gemma Hillier hit a hat-trick for Pompey but ended up on the losing side.
Lucia Padillia was on target twice and Bianca Baptiste added the other goal for Tottenham Hotspur as they ran out 3-0 winners over Gillingham.
Brighton & Hove Albion's new look side opened up proceedings with a 3-1 victory against newly promoted Copsewood (Coventry). The Seagulls' goals came in a ten minute spell either side of half time, Fliss Gibbons giving them a lead which was doubled by Charlotte Gurr, Gibbons adding her second early in the second half before Sarah Rowles pulled one back for Copsewood.
Lewes acquitted themselves well in the league last season and they have started off well again, defeating Plymouth Argyle 2-0. Kate McIntyre and Sian Heather netted the goals for the Rookettes.
West Ham Utd meanwhile edged out Queen's Park Rangers 2-1 in their local derby. Kasha Petit gave Rangers a first half lead but Lindsey Morgan levelled for the Hammers on the hour and Kelley Blanchflower gave them victory with a late winner (see match report).
