Women's Football News
As pioneers of girls' football and the first club in the country to have a female Centre of Excellence, Millwall Lionesses have always considered the grassroots development of women's and girl's football to be vitally important to the club.
To further our development programme we are delighted to announce that for the 2014-15 season we will be expanding our Lionesses' structure by introducing a Football Development Centre for girls aged between 5-8 years.
Many of our current first team players began their careers in a similar way and the Lionesses' are keen to give girls in the local community the chance to learn the sport in a safe and welcoming environment. Our goal is to provide girls with the opportunity to play and enjoy their football, while learning from qualified coaches, including many of the current Millwall Lionesses' players.
For the equivalent of £5 per week, each Development Centre player receives 90 minutes of high quality coaching per week. In addition, every player will also receive a complete Millwall Lionesses training kit and kitbag. Sessions are arranged in 12 week segments to fit around the school term and holidays.
