A 90th minute wonder goal by Glasgow City defender Eilish McSorley gave her side a 1-0 win over Celtic in a tight contest at Airdrie Excelsior Stadium, sponsored by Birrells Bar in Redding, Falkirk.
With full time approaching, McSorley collected the ball out on the left hand side, stepped forward and rifled a 40-yard strike into the top corner leaving Fay with no chance. City were then forced to see out the remaining five minutes of added time without Abbi Grant, who went off injured, but held on to maintain their 100% record in all competitions and move twelve points clear at the top of the SWPL with six games remaining.
City have closed in even further on the title as second placed Rangers drew 1-1 with Spartans. Sarah Ewens gave Spartans an early lead when she lobbed home but ten minutes into the second half, Megan Sneddon earned Rangers a share of the spoils by heading in the equaliser.
Hibernian moved to within two points of Rangers after they won 2-1 away to Aberdeen. Lucy Graham and Rachel Walkingshaw were both on target for Hibs, with Rachel McLauchlan replying for the Dons.
Things were just as tight in the bottom section of the table, still headed by Hamilton Academical who defeated Queen's Park 2-1.
Inverness City were another team to grab a last minute winner as they edged out Hutchison Vale by the odd goal in five. Veronika Klechova settled matters from the penalty spot to give Inverness the points, adding to earlier strikes from Natalie Bodiam and Hannah Gordon.
Buchan Ladies meanwhile gave their survival hopes a huge shot in the arm with a 2-1 victory over Forfar Farmington, which moves them to within three points of their opponents.
