We talk to...Holly Parkinson (Mossley Hill) - 6 Sep 2014 - Women's Football NewsMossley Hill produced the result of the day in the FA Women's Premier League Cup Determining Round on Sunday when they defeated Preston North End 2-1.

The Northern Division One side knocked out last season's Northern Division runners-up and League Cup semi finalists, a week after an impressive 4-0 win over Middlesbrough in their opening league match, and Holly Parkinson told Women's Soccer Scene that a great team performance led to them recording one of their greatest ever results:

A 2-1 win against a top team in the division above is always a good result, did you think it was a deserved result?
Yes it was a deserved result for the team, all of the girls give 100% effort from start to finish with a great attitude towards the game and it paid off.

What was the most pleasing aspect about the performance?
The most pleasing aspect was our team effort, we had the right communication, work rate and attitude and with being such a small club, I think people underestimate us so we were over the moon to come away with a win.

Did any players have particularly good game or was it a good all round team effort?
It was a good all round team effort by the girls with a great goal by Carla Lee.

It has been a great start with two good victories, has it been a big boost for the team's confidence?
Yes, it has been a great boost for the team and the team is filled with confidence at the moment. It is important now that we carry on the way we've started for the rest of the season and don't let it slip.

You now have two home games in four days against Liverpool Marshalls Feds and Sheffield Utd Community, do you see these as particularly important matches?
Every game we go into is important and we go into every game with the same winning attitude. Although playing our rivals, Liverpool Feds has a different feel to it because we know we are going into a battle, as its always a close game against them.

After going so close to winning the league last season, is the title the main aim this time around and do you feel the team is ready?
I think we are a team who are capable of moving forward and winning the league. I think it's important that we think in them areas and aim to be top.

Who do you think the main title challengers will be this season?
It's still too early to tell and there are some teams in this league who we have never come up against but looking back at last season, Chorley are definitely a team to watch.
