Sheffield FC opened up the new campaign in the Northern Division with a 3-0 victory over Guiseley AFC Vixens. Ellie Hall and Millie Kenyon ensured that Sheffield led by two goals at the break and Rachel Taylor added the third during the second half. Newcastle Utd meanwhile scored fifteen times without reply against Mansfield Town. Rebecca Hansen was on target four times, Lauren Driver contributed a hat-trick and the tally was completed by Amy Perch (2), Jasmine Petre (2), Beth Diamond, Myriam Neaimy, Claire Pitt and Natalie Atkinson.
Leicester City Women got off to a good start in the Midland Division, winning 3-0 at FC Reedswood. All of their goals came in the first half, Hollie Gunn putting them in front after four minutes and Lottie Tattam adding a brace ahead of the break. Megan Ralph, Alison Forbes and Grace Teah were all on the scoresheet as Coventry City beat Loughborough Students 3-1. Nottingham Forest edged out Derby County by the odd goal five thanks to a Sophie Davies double and Jessica Thompson, Dayna Randall netting twice in reply. Jade Cross scored the only goal of the game for Wolverhampton Wanderers in their 1-0 win against Stoke City.
Brighton & Hove Albion are the opening day leaders in the Southern Division after they defeated Gillingham 7-1. Bedford Ladies meanwhile had a good debut in the Reserve Section, beating Chichester City 2-0. Whitney Locke scored twice and Michelle Sumpter the other as West Ham Utd won 3-2 against C & K Basildon, who found the net through Laura Bryant and Lucy Wyatt, while Charlton Athletic beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 thanks to Olivia Cole and Victoria Chincharo.
