Scottish Women's Premier League leaders Glasgow City lost their first competitive league match in almost six years as a second half Katie Reilly strike gave Spartans a narrow 1-0 win.
It was debut day for City's recent star signing Morgan Marlborough but in the end, the attention was all on Spartans as they held on for a magnificent result against the reigning Champions.
The only goal of the game came when Reilly raced on to a long clearance from Rachel Harrison before burying her shot past City goalkeeper Niki Deiter.
Rangers look to be on course for a second place finish after running out 4-1 winners away to nearest rivals Hibernian. Suzanne Mulvey and Erin Cuthbert netted two goals apiece for Rangers, with Hibs' consolation coming from Katie Turner.
The points were shared at Aberdeen where the home side battled out a 2-2 draw with Celtic. Rebecca Dempster and Marlijn Hermans were on target for the Dons, with Celtic replying through goals from Kelly Clark and Heather Richards.
In the bottom section, Hamilton Academical are seven points in front of their nearest rivals following a 1-0 victory against Forfar Farmington, Gillian Sloey scoring the only goal of the game.
