F.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
Malet Lambert made it through to the First Round Qualifying following a 5-3 victory away to Wakefield. They will now be at home to a team also from the North East League Southern Division when they take on Farsley AFC, who enter the competition at this stage.
Farsley AFC Ladies were formed in 2010 from the ashes of Farsley Celtic Ladies when the senior club entered administration. Farsley AFC Ladies were formed as one team and under the leadership of both the chairman Sarah Firth and vice-chairman Joshua Greaves. Since then, the club has grown to two open age side and two junior sides and is still growing.
The first team have seen two promotions in two seasons, which saw them carry off the West Riding County League Premier Division title last season by a margin of three points over second placed Brighouse Athletic, earning them promotion to the North East League.
Under the management of Adrian Sparrow and his assistant Paul Wray, Farsley have also seen the growth of the Reserves side. The club, which is captained by Kat Paul-Bird, has made its home at Throstle Nest for seasons to come.
The two teams are yet to meet in the league this season but Farsley have started very well with four successive wins and are likely to go into the game as marginal favourites.
