Gemma keeps title hopes alive
 Women's Football News 6 Oct 2014
Arsenal 3 (Nobbs 1,13, Stoney 48) Liverpool 3 (Williams 35, Rolser 66, Davison 90)
Former Gunner Gemma Davison scored a late equaliser for Liverpool to deny Pedro Martinez Losa his second straight win since taking over Arsenal and keep the Reds' WSL title hopes alive.
Arsenal got off to the best possible start at Meadow Park when Jordan Nobbs got her head on the end of Alex Scott's cross, guiding the ball past Libby Stout at the near post after 40 seconds.
The Gunners doubled their lead 12 minutes later. Some lacklustre defending on the edge of the Liverpool area saw the ball played across the box, where Nobbs smashed it into the left side of the goal for her second of the game.
Liverpool reduced the deficit ten minutes before the break when Fara Williams sent a free kick from the left side of the box flying past Emma Byrne.
Shortly after half time, Arsenal's two-goal lead was restored when Casey Stoney ghosted in at the back post to get an outstretched leg on Rachel Yankey's corner.
Nicole Rolser, on her comeback from a long term knee injury, dinked the ball over the onrushing Byrne on 66 minutes to reduce the arrears once more and Davison scored in the 93rd minute, making a powerful run into the box, before placing the ball to the right of the goal to salvage a precious point for her side.
