Barking v Royston Town
 Women's Football News 10 Oct 2014
F.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
Georgia Gannaway scored twice along with Jo Rutherford and Amy Cooper as Royston Town won 4-0 against Sawbridgeworth Town to earn themselves a trip to Barking. The Essex side ran out 5-1 winners over Sherrardswood with doubles from Ashleigh Blatt and Carly Vigors, with Kelsey Watson also on target.
The club was formed in 1989 as Hornchurch Women's FC and two years later, became Collier Row Women's F.C. They reached the Premier Division of the Greater London League in 1996-97, winning the Essex County Cup the same year, but narrowly missed out on a place in the newly formed South East Combination. In 1998 they became Barking Ladies FC and a year later, merged with Leyton Orient Ladies and moved up to the Premier League Southern Division. However they could sustain this status and after being relegated from the South East Combination in 2005, they have remained in the Eastern Region League since. Their best finish was third place in 2009-10 and they have also reached the League Cup Final during that time.
The team is managed by Steve Bernet with Jason Acott as coach and captain is Claire Brooks. At present they lie in fifth place in the Premier Division with Carly Vigors as their leading scorer.
