Coventry City have gone to the top of the Northern Division table after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0.
The Sky Blues started strongly and were denied by a series of fine saves from Wolves goalkeeper Natalie Hall until Katie Lowder gave them the lead just after the half hour mark. Maz Gauntlett added the second early in the second half to see her side open up a lead of three points over their two nearest rivals, neither of whom were in action.
Huddersfield Town move back into fourth place as they shared a 3-3 draw with Newcastle Utd. The West Yorkshire side had raced into a 3-1 lead at half time thanks to Victoria Abbott, Katie Lockwood and Debbie Hastings but a Stacy Crooks double and Jess Foster ensured that the Magpies fought back in the second half to earn themselves a point.
Sporting Club Albion meanwhile cemented themselves in mid-table with a 2-1 victory over Stoke City, goals coming from Leanne Robinson and Stephanie Smith.
