As part of Gillingham FC's commitment to developing opportunities for young girls and women across the game, today's news sees the club make another monumental step in the right direction.
Gillingham Ladies Head of Media and Marketing, Charlotte Richardson explained: "Part of our club's rapid growth and development over the past 18 months has been rooted in a firm commitment to use football as a powerful platform to empower individuals and groups to reach their potential. We are constructing different methods of service delivery so whether you're a young player, a member of our first team, a student at our Girls Academy or a member of the wider community, Gillingham FC will be able to inspire and facilitate opportunities to enjoy the game. We believe Gillingham Ladies have an important part to play in bringing the women's game forward in Kent and leading the way for others too.
"I'm delighted Evolution For Women will be sponsoring our game against Spurs. The opportunity to showcase our team at Priestfield is something very special and we're lucky to have such support and leadership from the men's club to enable us to do so. To be able to combine forces with Evolution For Women is an equally special opportunity. Since moving to Priestfield Stadium, we've enjoyed some outstanding attendances beyond anything else in our league, our ambition is for this to continue and with support from partners like Evolution For Women, our work will continue to excel and ensure Gillingham Football Club is leading the way within the local community to offer equal opportunities in football."
