Durham and Yeovil share spoils
 Women's Football News 27 Oct 2014
Durham Women 1 (Christon 27) Yeovil Town 1 (Wiltshire 38)
Ellie Christon scored her first goal for Durham as the Wildcats ended their season with a draw at home to Yeovil Town.
Christon's first half strike was cancelled out by Sarah Wiltshire's equaliser as the home side rose one position to finish in sixth place in FAWSL 2.
It took 25 minutes for the first clear cut chance, with Durham's Jemma Purfield hitting a half volley wide from Caroline Dixon's long ball but the home side took the lead two minutes later. Zoe Ness' cross from the left found Christon inside the area and she took one touch before knocking the ball into the bottom left hand corner.
But, slightly against the run of play, Yeovil equalised seven minutes before the break. Wiltshire took advantage of a weak defensive header and lofted the ball over Durham keeper Danielle Hill and into the net, despite Dixon's best efforts.
Yeovil should have taken the lead on 69 minutes when Amy Wathan volleyed over from six yards out after Ellie Curson's shot had rebounded off the post.
Dixon could then have won the match for Durham but she headed Emily Scott's right wing cross wide from close range in the final minute as both sides had to settle for a point.

Durham Women: Danielle Hill, Jennifer Jennings (sub Beth Jennings 72mins), Jennifer King, Victoria Linsley (sub Emily Scott 88mins), Sarah Wilson, Caroline Dixon, Beth Hepple, Ellie Christon, Zoe Ness, Jemma Purfield, Jordan Atkinson. Subs not used: Carrie Ross, Anne Moorhouse.
