 Women's Football News 8 Nov 2014
Angharad relishing Barcelona challenge - 8 Nov 2014 - Women's Football NewsBristol Academy play in the last sixteen of the UEFA Women's Champions League for the first time in their history this week and will be up against one of the most glamorous names in football.
Academy take on FC Barcelona with the Spanish side hosting the first leg on Saturday and the return game at Ashton Gate next Thursday night.
Academy brushed aside Raheny Utd with a 6-1 aggregate victory in the last round and midfielder Angharad James, who scored in the second leg, is relishing the challenge.
"It's a great city, hopefully we can visit the Nou Camp and do some tourism out there," she quipped. "but the focus of course will be on the game and hopefully we can go there and put on a performance and come out with a win.
"We know they are going to be difficult, Spanish sides are always skilful with great players. They are obviously a brilliant team because they have got this far so it is going to be good to play against such a great side."
When asked if her side can get through to the semi finals, Angharad insists that the team will be going into the matches full of confidence.
"We are capable of doing it," she said. "If we play like we know we can, then we can give any side a run for their money It'll be interesting to see how it goes but hopefully we can give them a good game."
