Chelsea sends Preston through
 Women's Football News 2 Dec 2014

Three top flight clubs went safely through to the quarter finals of the Premier League Plate, two Northern Division teams and one from the Southern Division.

Preston North End emerged as 1-0 winners from the only all-top flight tie against Copsewood (Coventry). The only goal of the game came five minutes into the second half when Chelsea Flanagan scored.

West Ham Utd made it through a tricky tie at home to Leafield Athletic with a 3-1 victory. Stacey Little, Sarah McCrea and Jade Smith were all on the scoresheet for Julian Dicks' side.

Huddersfield Town ended the hopes of Chester-le-Street by beating them 5-1. Debbie Hastings and Natalie Brace each bagged doubles for Town and they were joined on the scoresheet by Kate Mallin.

Swindon Town kept up their good season by winning 2-1 away to Southampton Saints. Mega Vella's first half strike was cancelled out by Jess Lewry for the home side, but the Wiltshire side were to have the final say and Ellie Maynard scored a late winning goal (see match report).

Radcliffe Olympic edged their way past Leicester City Ladies with a 5-3 victory after extra time. Beth Bailey and Ashleigh Evans netted the goals for Radcliffe during the extra period to settle a thrilling tie to add to earlier strikes from Rania Ramadan, Lauren Plummer and Bailey once again. Gemma Ball had scored twice in reply for City along with Sarah Burbridge.

Exeter City made sure that the long journey home from Yorkshire was a happy one as they defeated Sheffield Utd Community 4-2. Tash Knapman was on target twice for the Grecians along with Helen Kukor and Lola Sanchez, while Sophie Bell and Rebecca Fairfax responded for the home side.

Gemma Woodford and Rowan Treagus scored the goals as Shanklin advanced into the quarter finals with a 2-0 victory over Loughborough Students.

Milton Keynes Dons are the other team through to the last eight following a 3-0 win against fellow South East Division One side Enfield Town.
