C & K Basildon v Maidenhead United
 Women's Football News 6 Dec 2014

F.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
Zoe Rushen scored twice and Amy Nash the other as C & K Basildon defeated Barking 3-1 to book themselves a First Round tie with Maidenhead Utd, who caused one of the surprises of the round when beating Shanklin 3-0 with goals from Lucy Smith (2) and Tina Brett.

Maidenhead United FC Ladies compete in the Southern Region Women's Football League and are an integral part of Maidenhead United FC who compete in the Conference South. Formerly Burnham LFC, Maidenhead United FC Ladies was newly formed at the beginning of the 2008-09 season. During their first season as Maidenhead United Ladies the team won promotion and the league crown from the Southern Region League Division One into the Premier Division, finishing ten points clear.

Following this success, Maidenhead then moved into the Premier looking to push for a spot at the next level, finishing as runners-up and just missing out on another promotion. The team since then has had a consistent foot hold in this division all the way up until the 2013-14 season, where they dramatically won the league title on the last day of the season. However, this was later rescinded by the league meaning Maidenhead will again compete in the Southern Region for the 2014-15 season. So far this season, Maidenhead hold a 100% league record and are still competing on four cup fronts.

Maidenhead United Ladies are managed by Ryan Salmon who is assisted by Neil Bailey as Assistant Manager and Aaron O'Brien as First Team Coach. There are two long serving players who have been with the club since its Burnham days in captain Tina Brett and vice captain Amy Saunders, who deserve a special mention as well as leading scorer Olivia Buzaglo. Off the field a special mention must also go to Mike Stevens and Lisa Starling who have worked tirelessly behind the scene within the ladies setup since and prior to formation of Maidenhead United Ladies.

The game is being played at Selex Sports & Leisure Club and C & K Basildon will start the match as favourites, although Maidenhead will have their sights set on another Premier League scalp.
