The top two teams in the Northern Division are starting to pull away from their rivals with Sheffield FC leading the way on goal difference following an 11-2 victory over Huddersfield Town.
The reigning Champions netted eight times during the first half, including a hat-trick from Jodie Michalska and an Emma Johnson brace with Ellie Gilliatt, Suzanne Davies and Sophie Barker also getting on the scoresheet. Michalska went on to add a further two after the break, taking her tally to five on the day, and Gilliatt netted a second before Huddersfield, who had earlier found the net through Debbie Hastings, scored a late consolation through Laura Windle.
Coventry City meanwhile picked up the result they needed in order to keep pace with Sheffield, a 2-0 win against Newcastle Utd. Amber Hughes scored both goals in the first half to see the Sky Blues towards their tenth win in eleven matches.
Sporting Club Albion cemented their position in mid-table by winning 3-2 away to Derby County, who remain just above the bottom two. Derby had led at half time via a goal from Melissa Johnson but a brace after the break from Stephanie Smith, plus a Trina Greaves goal, saw Albion return home with the points despite Aimee Perry scoring late on for the home side.
