Laura leaves Academy   - 3 Jan 2015 - Women's Football NewsBristol Academy can confirm that Spanish striker Laura Del Rio has left the club.
Del Rio has played for the Vixens for the past three seasons, reaching the FA Women's Cup final in 2013 and scoring 14 goals during her time at the club.
Everyone at Bristol Academy wishes Laura the best for her future and would like to thank her for her contribution to the club.
Meanwhile the club's UEFA Women's Champions League success in 2014, beating Raheny United and FC Barcelona, has resulted in the Vixens gaining five places in the rankings to 13th. Bristol Academy are now the third placed highest English team in the rankings, behind Arsenal and Birmingham City.
The ranking is calculated the same as the FIFA Women's World Ranking for National teams, using matches from the FA Women's Super League and the UEFA Womens Champions league to calculate the Vixens' score.
The club is looking forward to the 2015 season, with the Champions League quarter final games against Frankfurt in March and WSL campaign also commencing in the Spring.
