Chelsea Ladies FC is delighted to announce the signing of Sweden international Marija Banusic.
The 19-year-old forward is one of the most exciting young talents in Europe and made her senior international debut in November having excelled at youth level. A versatile forward, Banušić joins from Swedish club Kristianstads DFF and will link up with manager Emma Hayes' squad later this month when the players return for pre-season training.
"It's a great privilege to be able to join Chelsea Ladies and help such a big club challenge for titles," said Banušić. "I can't wait to join the team later this month and start my career as a Chelsea Ladies player."
Banušić is Hayes' fifth signing this winter having already added Gemma Davison, Millie Bright, Niamh Fahey and fellow Sweden international Hedvig Lindahl to her squad for this year's FA Women's Super League and UEFA Women's Champions League campaigns.
Hayes said: "Marija is the best young attacking talent in Sweden and we are delighted that she chose to join Chelsea over many other clubs from across Europe.
"She will bring us further creativity and add another attacking dimension to our play. I can't wait to start working with this very talented young player."
Chelsea Ladies can also confirm Yuki Ogimi and Rachel Williams have left the club. Japanese international Ogimi has completed a transfer to VfL Wolfsburg in Germany following 18 months with the club whilst Williams, who joined in November 2013, leaves for FA WSL side Notts County.
